Navratna
Navratna are the nine gemstones as per HINDU ASTROLOGY & HINDU BELIEF.
Navratna has been derived from Sanskrit language, the word “NAV” means Nine and “RATNA” Means Gemstones. Navratna represents nine planets they are THE SUN(SURYA); THE MOON(CHANDRA); THE PLANETS MARS(MANGAL); MERCURY(BUDH); JUPITER(BRIHASPATI); VENUS(SUKRA); SATURN(SHANI) & THE ASCENDING & DECENDING LUNAR NODES, Respectively knows as (REHU & KETU). Navratna or the Nine Planets has greater importance in Hinduism and Hindu rituals, Navratna are consider to play a Major role in deciding the destiny of a Human Being as per their “Kundly”. Navratna consider auspicious and believe to bring good health, prosperity, happiness and peace of mind who ever wears it.
1) RUBY (MANEK): Ruby is a King of Gemstones which is also known as Ratnaraj, Ruby represents THE SUN (Surya Graha). Ruby is the Birth stone for the Month of July as per English calendar. Rubies are available in the color range from pinkish red, bright red to dark reddish brown, Pigeon blood red ruby from Burma is the finest and most expensive ruby in the world. Rubies are found in the regions of India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand & Africa etc.
2) Pearl:Pearl is Queen of gemstones, pearl represents THE MOON (Chandra Graha). Pearl is the Birth stone for the Month of June as per English calendar. Pearl is organic and is formed by living organisms. They are generally formed within the self tissue layers of mollusks such as oysters & mussels. Mostly Natural pearls come in Baroque shaped (Unshaped), in different colors like white, off white, creamish white, grayish white, silverish etc. culture pearls in different shapes and color. Mostly all pearls are available in the trade are cultured. Basra pearls are most rarest and expensive pearls in the world. Pearls are found in China, Australia, Japan, Venezuela, Basra etc.
3) Coral: Coral represents The Plant MARS (Mangal). Coral is an Organic material & it is found in warm water of the sea at depths. The Hardness of Coral is very low; Mostly corals are cut in to cabochon shape. Corals come in different colors like white, light pink, orange, reddish orange, blue & black etc. Corals are found in Italy, Japan etc.
4) Hessonite Garnet: Hessonite Garnet represent the RAHU (Moon N Node), Hessonite Garnet is a Birth Stone for the month of January as per English Calendar. Hessonite Garnet comes in Medium to dark orange, brownish orange to brownish yellow in color. Hessonite Garnet come in a different shape & cut such as Oval mixes cut, Octagonal step cut, Cushion mix cut etc. Hessonite Garnet is found India, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, South Africa etc.
5) Blue Sapphire: Blue Sapphire represent The Planet Saturn (Shani Graha), Blue Sapphire is a Birthstone for the Month of September as per English Calendar. Blue Sapphire name itself represent its color range from very pale blue to deep indigo, the most valued is deep cornflowers blue, Kashmir Blue Sapphire is highly priced. Blue sapphires are found in Burma, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Africa etc.
6) Cat’s Eye (Chrysoberyl): Cat’s eye represent “KETU” (Moon N Node) to give a chatyoancy, or cat’s eye effect it has to be cut & polished in cabochon shape. It came in different color such as pearl yellow to golden yellow, greenish to brownish combination etc. Cat’s eyes are found in India, Sri Lanka, and Burma etc.
7) Yellow Sapphire: Yellow Sapphire represents The Planet Jupiter (Brihaspati). Yellow Sapphire belongs to the same family as Blue Sapphire and Ruby. Yellow Sapphire comes in color range from pale yellow to dark yellow. Yellow Sapphire is found mostly in two places Sri Lanka and Thailand.
8) Emerald:Emerald represents The Planet Mercury (BUDH). Emerald is the Birth stone for the month may as per English Calendar. Emerald is being valued as per its 4’C i.e. Color, Clarity, Cut & Carat. Emerald with very good valuable. Emerald is brittle gemstones. Emeralds are found in India, Zambia, Colombia, and Brazil etc.
9) Diamond:Diamond represents The Planet Venus (Shukra). Diamond is the birth stone for the month of April as per English Calendar. It is hardest substance on earth, only a diamond can cut or polish other diamond, due to it high transparency and colorless it being valued. It is highly prized of all gemstones, Diamond is found in India, South Africa, and Russia etc.
